RICS’ confirmed today that the new Home Survey Standard will be implemented from 1st March 2021 (instead of 1st Dec 2020), as surveyors prioritise the response to COVID-19 and the upheaval caused by rolling lockdowns put in place in various areas of the United Kingdom.
RICS commented that “The new standard will better protect buyers and sellers, with emphasis on making sure that consumers fully understand the importance and benefits of commissioning a home survey and what will be included in their survey before purchasing a property, as the process and language has undergone simplification and survey offerings are standardised.”
